Halifax, Nova Scotia · early access

Your campus.
Your people.Your next adventure.

Planned ridesharing for verified students heading the same way and the people and plans around them.

A 9 AM lecture, a lab across town, a grocery run at six. On-demand apps price every one of those as a solo trip while the seats beside you stay empty. Ronnect is the other way round: planned trips between students who are going the same way.

Shared ride

Four seats, four students, one plan

Why planned

On-demand rides were never built for a campus day.

Transit goes the opposite way from where you need to be. Ride-hailing prices every journey as if you were travelling alone and the empty seats pull away with the car.

Priced by the trip

Every seat you were not going to use costs you full price.

Empty seats leave with the car

Driving alone does save fuel, but a solo driver still spends more on the trip than one who splits the fuel cost across the empty seats.

Plans move faster than ETAs

Class ends at nine. Your ride should already have been posted.

How it works

Three steps. One seat at a time.

Either side of the trip can start it. Both end with a person approving a seat.

01

Post where you're going

Drivers post a trip: destination, departure time, seats left. Riders post a request: where and when. Either way it starts with a plan, not a hail.

02

Students your way request in

Only verified students at your campus can see the board. Requests show the route and the time, so nobody is guessing.

03

You confirm, split, connect

You approve who rides with you and how many seats. Each seat carries a fuel split, the price of the seat stated up front, and afterwards the conversation can keep going.

Built for the way students actually move

  • Early lectures, late labs, and late study at the Patrick Power Library and the Atrium
  • Fewer cars carrying the same number of people
  • Institution-verified, so the network stays a student network

Not on-demand. Deliberately.

Ronnect is not a taxi and not a hail service. A trip has to be planned by somebody, which is exactly why the seats are cheap and the people are known.

Ride Boards

One board. Three kinds of post.

Rides going somewhere, students who need a ride, and plans that are not transport yet. All on a single board with filters, so nothing is hidden in a separate tab.

Sustainability

Same commuters. Fewer vehicles on the road.

A smart city answer to campus traffic: when the people already going the same way travel in one car, the same commute costs less fuel, produces less CO2, and takes up less road.

Fewer vehicles

The same commuters, the same destinations, fewer cars doing the same trip.

Less congestion

Campus roads, parking and transit stop absorbing journeys that were never meant to be solo.

Lower emissions

Every seat filled in a car somebody is already driving is a trip that does not have to happen.

The social side

The ride is where it starts.

Traditional ride apps ask where you are going. Ronnect asks two more questions: who might you go with, and what you could do together. Rides create connections, connections create plans, and plans create more rides.

Ride Buddies

Keep the people you got along with, and plan the next trip with them.

Activity posts

Share what you are into. A café, a match, a market and see who is going.

Join my trip

Post an outing, invite your buddies, and let verified students request a seat.

Discover together

Events and places picked from your interests, not an ad budget.

Trust

Verified students. Approved seats. Your privacy.

Expanding the social side should make a student network safer, not looser. Sharing a seat never shares your feed, your address or your live location.

Institution-verified accounts

Only eligible students join a campus network.

Driver approves every seat

Invitations are requests, not bookings.

Privacy controls

Choose who sees your plans. Buddies, campus, or invitees.

Report and block

For drivers

Fill the seats you would have left empty.

You already drive to campus, to the store, home for the weekend. Post those trips, decide who rides with you, and share the cost with people heading your way.

Your schedule

Post the trips that already fit your week.

Your approval

Choose every rider yourself, every time.

Where we are

One city. One campus community. Three phases.

Ronnect is not live everywhere. We open one campus network at a time, and we say what is built.

What we are building toward

A network where every campus has a board worth opening on a Monday morning and where the person you shared a ride with in September is the reason you opened it in October.

Early access is invite-only and opens campus by campus. If you study in Halifax, Nova Scotia, or you drive there every day, we want you in the first cohort.

The apps are still in build. Join the list and we will tell you the day yours is live. The badges above take you there, not to a store that does not have us yet.
